Program Design with Alice II

Overview

In today's project we are going to be continue using the Alice software. Since you are back on the machines and if you have not already done so you will need to reinstall Alice

  1. Right click on the link provided here and select save link as, you can save it to the Desktop 

  2. Go to the desktop and find the folder labeled Alice.zip (on Windows it may look like there is a zipper running through the folder icon).  Right click on the folder and select Extract All

  3. Follow the directions and extract all the files to a folder called Alice on the desktop

  4. Go into the folder labeled Alice and double click on the icon named Alice to start the program.

  5. Say yes if it asks if you want to run the program


Now in the program click on the tab for Tutorial, and then click and open Tutorial 3.  Complete the tutorial  and then return here and writeup answers to the following questions.
  1. What was the primary objectives of Tutorial 3?.

  2. Give 2 examples of events that you were involved with during this tutorial?

  3. You did logical things with your events (i.e. when an event was triggered you generally caused the object on which it was triggered to do somethhing), would it be allowed to make your event act on a different object then the one on which you triggered it?

  4. What two things did you have to do when you defined a new event?

Now go back and do Tutorial 4 (you can always find the tutorials by looking under the help menu). Then return here and answer the questions about part 2.
  1. What was the primary objective on Tutorial 4?

You have completed Alice Part II. Keep your answers from both parts with you you will turn them in after part III.
