So its probably the case that you are going to need to work on
the computer projects outside of class. There are of course two
different types of places that you may work: either an on-campus
machine virtually identical to the ones in our classroom or a
machine unlike the ones in class.
- If you are on a machine identical to the ones in class.
- You should be able to follow the normal directions on
blackboard for accessing your files on storm.
- Remember, to work on files you have previously created.
- Open Secure File Transfer
- Connect to storm
- Go into your public_html folder on the RIGHT side of the
screen.
- Browse to the Desktop on the LEFT side of the screen.
- Drag your old version of the file you wish to work on from
the Right side to the Left side.
- Open up notepad on your machine.
- Use the File menu to Open your the file that you dragged.
- Make your changes to the file.
- When you are done you should save your file and then drag in
from the Left to the Right in the Secure File Transfer Program.
- If you are working on a different machine. You will still be
able to do all of the above, but you will need to install The
Secure File Transfer Program on your machine.
- To install the program, open the link to the
Secure File Transfer Program
- Run the program when prompted to do so, and accept all of the
basic defaults.
- When completed you will have the program on your computer and
can follow the earlier instructions for getting your files to
work on.
