I'm a first-year PhD student at Fordham University. I was born in Shanghai, and moved to New York after spending 13 years of my life there. I received my BS degree from the Applied Mathematics and Statistics and Economics departments at Stony Brook University. I completed my Master of Science in Data Science degree at Fordham University. I joined Dr. Frank Hsu's Laboratory of Informatics and Data Mining as a Ph.D. student in 2024.
My primary research focuses on machine learning/artificial intelligence. More specifically, I'm more interested in computational-X/AI4Science and combinatorial fusion analysis (CFA). Our work includes United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) text classification, bitcoin price prediction, CFA-related software tool building, and so on. Lately, we have been focusing on eye-movement-tracking-based preference detection.
My other research interest is in area where computer science is related to technology law, ethics, and policy, especially related to security, privacy, transparency in digital technologies and political science.. I'm currently exploring research projects that intersects both computer science and the law, such as e-discovery. I'm also looking into election forecasting, both on the federal and local level races.
Note: I'm a quasi-professional level pianist, having attended Mannes School of Music Pre-college Division under the guidance of the wonderful Irina Edelman. I'm also a lousy tennis player. I played as D2 in the tennis varsity team of Benjamin N. Cardozo High School (No. 3 Seed in NYC PSAL playoffs) for 3 years. I also write blogs on Substack occasionally.
