Daniel Leeds – About me

I received a S.B. and M.Eng. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT, in 2005 and 2006, respectively. At MIT, I pursued work on biological models of speech in the Speech Communication Group and on medical diagnostic tecnologies in the lab of John Guttag. I went on to Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) to pursue Masters work in the Robotics Institute on modeling the statistical structure of natural sounds. I continued at CMU to pursue doctoral work in the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition (CNBC) on modeling visual object perception and developing novel methodologies for neuroimaging studies. My dissertation was completed in the Summer of 2013 under the supervision of Mike Tarr. In Fall 2013, I became an Assistant Professor at Fordham University in the Computer and Information Science Department. I was promoted to tenured Associate Professor in 2019. I also have served as Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies in Computer and Information Sciences from 2017 to 2020, and now serve as Director of the undergraduate Integrative Neursociences Program.
